Free Lightroom Presets!

Presets are the lifeblood of efficiency. Often they get a bad reputation from entry level photographers looking to find a one click solution to producing professional photos. As we all know, presets are a great tool in our toolbox, but are not the final step. Below find a few presets that you can use to improve your photography. All of these presets are 100% FREE and can be downloaded as many times as you would like. Make sure to share your results using #mwapreset.

If you have any questions on how to use presets, there are tons of great tutorials online. The simple breakdown is to download the file, open lightroom, go to the Preferences tab, find the correct “develop presets” folder, and save the file to that folder. It is slightly more complicated than this, but searching “Import preset into Lightroom” will find you tons of helpful articles and videos. From there apply the preset, tweak, and enjoy. And remember to use the tag #MWAPRESET so we can see your progress!

Remember: Presets are only a starting point. You will not find a single preset that works perfectly in every instance. Make sure you take the time to tweak your individual images to get the exact look you are going for. If you find that you love a certain look, make your own preset to your preferences!

Free Preset #1  – “Punch”

This preset adds a warm glow to the overall image, punches up the whites, increases vibrance a bit, and brings the shadows up. This a good overall starting point to get sharp, clear photos. If you are looking to try something different than the “matte” look, this is the place to start.    – Andrew
